Nowadays, progressive die stamping is acting an important act in our life. We could see many metal parts such as automotive hardware, furniture hardware, clothing metal parts and kitchenware metal parts, which all need to use the metal stamping line.

In this article, we will talk about the solutions for drain basket producing on professional and technical points .
To make sure which metal stamping equipment need to be choose, we need to design die for basket drain first. After discussing with our mold engineer, we come to three solutions.

Drain Basket Producing Solution 1

This is not a full automatic producing line that needs 3 steps.
Step1: 1 set of progressive die compact with 110-ton press machine equipped with decoiler straightener and servo roll feeder machine
Step 2: single punching die for crimping with 25-ton press machine
Step 3: single punching die for crimping with 25-ton press machine

In this solution, we have calculated the production capacity for each step. For example, step 1 can reach 12600 pieces per day (7 working hours). But steps 2 and step 3 only can have 6300 pieces. So unless your production capacity is not a high requirement, we have to prepare 2 sets of press machines and die for steps 2 and 3 to match the production capacity with step 1.
Considering the total investment, including machine and labor cost, we have upgraded the die to save steps and labor cost. But, first, let us see solutions 2 and 3.

Compared with solution 1, we keep step 1 as well. But combining steps 2 and 3, which need one press machine. Details are as follow:

Step1: 1 set of progressive die compact with 110-ton press machine equipped with decoiler straightener and servo roll feeder machine
Step2: 1 set of punching die for crimping. Equipped with in-mold transfer arm to move semi-finished product and punching by 45-ton press machine. In this way, it can save labor costs but increase transfer arm to realize automation production.

All punching steps are combined on one progressive die to make a full automatic producing line for the drain basket.
The full line configuration is as follow:
Desenrollador + Enderezadora + Servo alimentador en zigzag + Transfer Arm + Double Rank 110 Ton Press Machine + Progressive Die + Conveyor

Drain Basket Producing Solution 3

The material we adopted is a metal coil as well. Equipped with a decoiler straightener and zigzag servo feeder, we have circle blanking. After circle blanking, the transfer arm will help for the next two steps of crimping.
This drain basket producing line has the advantage of full automation, saving labor cost, less space occupied, material saving, and intelligence.

Above all, the three solutions have their own advantages and disadvantages. And you can choose according to your own needs.
