Stamping press machine from 250ton to 2000ton are mostly used in progressive or transfer stamping applications. And HE full functional coil feed line is a perfect choice for double crank straighten side presses in large tonnages.It can handle high strength steel in large width up to 1800mm, and thickness up to 12mm.

Fully automatic, handsfree coil loading and threading

After setting a metal coil specification from the touch screen console, all the follow-up coil handling process are electric control without human operation.

Automatic coil loading with the self-centering system
The coil car will load the metal coil to uncoiler spindle with self-centering function. Then the limit rolls will close automatic, and the hold-down arm goes down electronic with calculated pressure.

Automatic coil threading
The metal coil will be inserting into straightener part automatically after uncoiling, with photoelectric sensors for loop control, no manual operation needed.

The electric straightening value adjustment
Straightening value needs precision adjustment according to different material thickness and strength, and this process will be finished by touch screen control panel without hand-wheel operation.

Automatic transfer to inching mode
When a coil is about to finish, the passing through detector will send stop single to stamping press and transfer to inching mode automatically.

Backup rollers

To avoid the edges caused by overloaded straightening rolls, HE implements backup rolls in coil feeding lines, for high strength material or broader coil.The straightener part has frames with backup rolls on the top and bottom. These groups of backup rollers will carry the separating force loads to achieve better straightening performance.

Smart straightening adjustment

Depends on different coil specification, HE will help you set the straightening value when installing the coil feeding line.

The two sides of the coil surface are compressed or stretched to bend the material into a coil shape. The inner surface is compressed around coil I.D., usually from 400mm to 610mm. And the outer surface is stretched around coil O.D., usually from 800mm to 1800mm. The changes between the inner diameter and outer diameter of the coil require different straightening adjustment.

HE’s straightening adjustment program is capable of handling this situation. Our self-developed program will adjust the straightening value automatically during one coil handling process, without an operator’s work.

Openable upper rolls for easy clean and improvement

For some material, such as HSS, Aluminum, there will be material scraps left on the straighteners. HE straightener head is openable, for easy clean rolls or further improvement applications.

Main Parts & Description (GLK4-1600H as reference)


1. Coil Car

This coil car has two functions. One helps metal coil load to the uncoiler spindle, and another one is helping the material head enter into straightening parts smoothly. When loading the metal coil with a narrow width, there are moveable baffles to avoid coil dump.

The coil car has four guide columns load-bearing, and the coil contact surface is roller type. A hydraulic motor with chain transmission drives the two rolls.

2. Uncoiler

Uncoiler machine uncoils the metal coil to metal strip, then feed the piece into the straightener-feeder machine. It rotates intermittently to release the metal strip. An uncoiler contains spindles, coil hold-down arm, coil guide limit arm and loop control parts, etc.

This uncoiler has a maximum loading capacity 15ton, with support cantilever structure. And there’re three groups of hydraulic wedged structure for uncoiler spindle expansion.

Coil hold-down arm: Add pressure on the coil to avoid strip lose during uncoiling process

Coil guide limit arms: Coil guide limit arms have two rollers. The inside rollers have a fixed angle, and the outer rolls can be open or close by air cylinder drive. When the two rollers are closed down, the metal coil will be fixed between two rollers, to prevent loop misguide. After coil uploaded on the uncoiler mandrel, the two rolls will be moved with self-centering to meet the setting coil width. The two rollers are non-motorized with free rotation, and the surface is black phosphorus treatment.

3.Coil Threading Support

After uncoiling process, the support rollers on the coil car will guide the material to coil threading support part. The coil threading support device has a swing arm with an upper inlet roller, driven by a hydraulic cylinder.

When the material head reaches the straightener head, it will be detected. Then the swing arm will close automatically to hold-down material.

The bottom inlet roller is geared transmission, sharing drive power with straightener rollers. When upper inlet roller goes down, the two rollers clamp the metal strip and send it to the straightening part. These two rollers are made by high quality bearing steel, with sandblasting treatment, hardness reaches HRC60±2.

4. Straightener Feeder

The straightener-feeder part leveling the coil set and feed it into stamping press in a fixed quantity. It has two inlet pinch rolls, both of them are motorized, which can clip the sheet strip and avoid material scratch.

Rollers transmission: Side gear drive, ISO 6 precision standard gears

Backup rollers: 10 groups, up5 groups/down5 groups, same quality material and surface treatment with straightening rollers
Backup rollers support: Needle bearings

Pinch rollers: 2pcs, two outlet pinch rollers will feed the leveled strip into stamping press after straightening.

5. Hydraulic Shear (Option)

A hydraulic shearing unit is used to cut the material heads and tails for productivity improvement and better stamping product quality. The hydraulic shear used in HE coil feed line has four sides scissors to achieve smooth cutting.Moreover, when the material crack in the stamping dies, a hydraulic shear can cut the strip loop for a quick repair and maintain.It's operated by touch screen control and with manual scissors adjustment.


6. Automatic Lubrication Unit (Option)

Lubrication of steel strip before stamping will protect the stamping dies. The HE automatic lubrication system is automatically controlled, with an oil loop recycling system, which will save oiling cost and prevent leakage.And HE provides wool felt roller type and rubber roller type for optional to meet the different requirements of specific material type.


7. Tailout Support Bracket

An outlet support bracket is used to help the metal strip delivery to press die smoothly. When the coil material is in thin thickness, and there is lots of space between straightener-feeder and stamping dies, the strip will move up and down to affect the stamping quality. An outlet support bracket can avoid this problem. And the length of the support bracket is adjustable to fit different dimensions of stamping dies.
